On the day of an average game of footy, teams would gather sometime in the morning for a pre match pep talk, or if the game is at night they may do a minor training session. For the crowd, most people like to get to the stadium at least half an hour before the game, or even earlier, so they can get through the gates and find their seats. When you arrive there, you have to scan your ticket to get through the gate. Once you are though the gate security check your bags for dangerous things like knives and drugs, and alcohol is also not aloud. They do sell alcohol at a bar inside the stadium, but you are not aloud to take your own. During the match there are food shops open in the stadium, which sells hot food and other food as well as drinks. They sell footy records before and during the game, which is like an AFL magazine, with things in it about the game you are watching.
